"Yes, we're the kind of mom's punks," boldly admits Yuri Buga while talking about his work at "Alpina." "Alpina" is the largest independent publishing group in Russia, founded in 1998. It includes publishing houses such as "Alpina Publisher," "Alpina Non-Fiction," "Alpina PRO," "Alpina.Proza," "Alpina.Deti," and the company Alpina Digital. Recently, they've added "Bel Lettre" (modern foreign literature for women) and "Marshmallow books" (young adult literature, manga, and Asian novels) to their portfolio. The mission of the publishing group is to disseminate knowledge and create technologies that help people develop and change the world for the better. The first steps towards this goal have been taken: 6 out of 10 books from the "Alpina" publishing group made it into the list of the best-selling books in Russia over the past ten years according to Ozon in 2020. Many of the covers of the publishing house's reader favorites are created by Yuri. Many of his works become events in the book industry, such as the reissue of Orwell or the photo biography of Limonov compiled from book covers.
