A star of Russian independent animation, Dmitry teaches in China and at the Higher School of Economics' School of Design. He has participated in exhibitions in Yekaterinburg, St. Petersburg, Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, Tula, Washington, Copenhagen, and Sofia. Selected films by Dmitry have been screened at the New York Cinematheque and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. Among his works are films such as "Fish, Swimmers, and Ships" and "I Saw How Mice Buried a Cat" (created with the participation of young animators in Chinese workshops), as well as "A Man Meets a Woman" and "The Boy." One of his recent films, "The Mistress of the Copper Mountain," won 5 major awards: at the Animation Competition at the Vyborg Film Festival, in the main competition of the Animation Film Festival in Suzdal, at the "Literature and Cinema" festivals in Gatchina and "Pushkin and..." in the Pushkin Mountains, as well as for Best Animated Film at the Golden Eagle Awards.
